Madeleine Spencer


she/her

Madeleine has been farming since 2016 and joined the board of WAYFC in 2018. For six years she worked at the Pierce Conservation District where she created the Farm Foundations Training and Incubator programs. She now owns Honey Wood Farm, a small diversified vegetable farm, in Longbranch, WA where she lives with her husband, daughter, and farm dog. 

Brian Estes
he/him

Brian Estes is a worker-owner and Partnerships Director at the Spokane-based LINC Cooperative. A life-long eastern Washingtonian, Brian joined LINC in 2017, after stints farming mixed veggies on the edge of Spokane and working with several food systems non-profits. He has been involved with the WA Young Farmers Coalition Chapter since 2012. He loves the Coalition for the relationships it fosters and for the opportunity to participate in agricultural policy work. 

Grayson Crane
they/him

Grayson has been farming for 13 years and is a first generation farmer located in Eatonville, WA nearby Mt Tahoma on Nisqually land. They operate Pink Moon Farm, a 22 acre diversified vegetable, poultry and sheep farm. Grayson loves farm work, being outside, and the process of growing and raising food. Outside of farming, you can find them playing music, petting their dogs, going on runs, and scheming trips to national parks. They are excited to be working with WAYFC, especially working on farmer mental health support.

Emily Tzeng
she/her

Emily Tzeng lives and farms In the Puyallup River Valley at Local Color Farm and Fiber where she grows vegetables, natural dyes, and sheep. 2023 marks her eleventh year farming in the PNW and ninth year working with natural dyes. She also is a seed fellow with Second Generation Seeds, a growers collective stewarding the seeds and crops of the Asian diaspora.

Chandler Briggs


he/him

Chandler grew up playing in the sand of sunny Southern California and now he plays in the rich soils of the Walla Walla Valley. He farms 8 acres of produce on Walla Walla people’s land with his partner Leila. 2019 marks his thirteenth season farming, eighth year working draft horses and thirty-fifth year eating pizza. He loves weird wine, punk music and politics. Chandler is also one of the original co-founders of WAYFC.

Lucia Wyss
she/her

Lucia Wyss is a farmer and farm advocate in Grays Harbor County. With her partner she raises hogs and grows organic grains for animal feed. She joined the board of WAYFC after serving for two years as the coordinator, and she is particularly interested in the intersection of social and environmental justice in farming. She is also involved in the Female Farmer Project.

Emma Shorr
she/her

Emma is a queer, white, jew(ish) farmer currently growing veggies at Steel Wheel Farm on Snoqualimie land. She is committed to farming for food sovereignty and land liberation. Emma started farming because she hates desks and loves eating. In addition to farming, Emma also enjoys playing in the kitchen, feeding friends, swimming in the ocean, biking everywhere, and making art.

Miles Griffin
he/him

My wife, Amanda, and I manage Posterity Farm in Carlton, WA, in the Methow Valley. We currently produce pasture-raised turkeys and certified organic garlic, but we hope to grow and diversify over the coming years.

Clare Duncan McCahill
she/her

Clare operates Perigee Farm in Elbe, WA where she stewards 100 acres of wetland, woodland, and open space originally inhabited by the Nisqually people. Alongside a small flock of Finnsheep and about 70 hens, she manages a collection of projects on the land with an eye toward habitat restoration and regenerative practices. The farm currently sells specialty cut flowers and pastured eggs to the local community and will soon add diversified fruit and nut crops, meat and fiber to its offerings. Also a yoga teacher, Clare practices as a way to cultivate mental health and physical wellbeing, and loves to share the tools of yoga with others, especially farmers.

Micha Ide
she/her

Micha Ide owns and operates Bright Ide Acres with her husband Andrew, in Orting, WA, where they focus on ethically raised meat.
